If you’re planning a trip to Florida for a vacation, then you’ll most likely be heading to one of the major theme parks that the state is famous for around the world. However, what if you wanted to do something a little different when you arrived? Florida has a lot to offer besides the theme parks, and you can easily find yourselves having some amazing adventures. Here are some of the alternative things to see while you’re there.

Gatorland: The Alligator Capital of the World

If you love nature and animals, then Gatorland has to be worth a visit. Although this is a theme park, it has a lot of attractions that it would be impossible to find anywhere else. There are an amazing 1,200-feet of zip lines that you and the family can use, as well as a train ride through the park and an aviary. There are also daily shows where you can meet some of the alligators, and young visitors can even take part in some rookie gator wrestling.

Airboat Rides

If you’re going to Florida, one of the things you need to do is take a trip on the airboat tours that take place in the central part of the state. They’re great for families, and you can see some of the wonderful wildlife that you can only see by going to Florida. You can take a tour during the day, or you can wait for the sunset tour to get more of the atmosphere.

Hiking

If you’re looking for a more active vacation, then you can always hit one of the many trails scattered around the states national parks. One nice area, in particular, is the trails around Pensacola. It’s the most westerly city in Florida, and it’s part of a small sea port that was originally inhabited by native Americans. It has a long Naval history going back to 1914 and is still has troops stationed there. As well as some music festivals and events, the hiking is also varied. You can take one of the many green and pleasant routes down to Crystal Lake to check out the tranquil Pensacola, FL apartments.

Orlando Tours

If you want to see more of Florida’s capital city, then there’s no better way than by going on a city tour. There are air-conditioned coaches that can take you around the ‘City Beautiful’ as it’s called. You can see Lake Eola, the vibrant downtown area with its cafes and bars, and the Mennello Museum of American Art. Depending on when you go, there are also many events and festivals that take place throughout the year. Many people don’t take the time to visit the capital, but there are many things to explore for all the family.

You can find many other wonderful places to visit in Florida. The weather is almost always good, so it lends itself to the outdoor pursuits. Whatever part you decide to visit, you’ll certainly have fun.
