How to Enjoy a Winter in France as a Family

November 15, 2016 By anthony Leave a Comment

Winter time in France is an experience to enjoy, with wine, skiing, and amazing mountain chalet views what more could anyone ask for when spending the winter months with family? Consider a stay on one of the catered ski chalets for some winter time family fun. Just remember to bring your warm clothes and a cozy snuggle buddy for those chilly nights and brisk mornings.

Chalet Le Char

This 52-acre park has more than enough outdoor play area for your children to exhaust themselves with snowball fights, sledding, and snowman building competitions; and then when they come in the fun continues in the loft playroom. They will keep themselves entertained for hours allowing the adults to have some much needed relaxation time of their own. Then when it is time for dinning and settling in for the night, you will be surrounded by elegance in the mansion estate.

Le Chateau de St Louis Keep

Although the 14th century castle was once a dungeon that was used to house the King of France, Jean le Bon, when the “Black Prince” had him imprisoned, you would never know that this was once used to imprison royalty. The ten bedroom castle has its own lake and is surrounded by a moat, making it the ideal location for secluded family time or a major family event such as a winter wedding.

Demeure de Marbougett

Set in the center of the Gers in Aquitaine regions in the South of France, this chateau offers exquisite services, as well as an impressive wine cellar. The beautiful scenery and the lavish décor make the Demeure de Marbougett the perfect winter holiday retreat for celebrating the Christmas holidays away from the hustle and bustle of home.

Chalet Cache

For the family who enjoys kicking up some power during the day, and then kicking up their heels after a day on the slopes, Chalet Cache is your destination spot. Its ideal location set only 200m away from Chamonix high street, offers visitors an abundance of nightly activities in order to dance, drink, and get a little wild.

Chateau Lauzel

If your family’s idea of wonderful winter entertainment is more about experiencing delicious food and wine than speeding down the side of a mountain then the Chateau Lauzel is the place for you. This once medieval castle has been converted into a chateau where visitors can stay in order to explore the many world class restaurants and wine tasting experiences that are only minutes away.

Winters in France are the perfect time to get the family together and take a much needed holiday to one of the centuries old castles, chalets, or chateaus in order to spend quality family time exploring history, getting much needed exercise on one of the many downhill ski slopes, or indulging in some of the world’s finest wine and cuisines. Whatever your family’s preferences are, you are sure to find something to make everyone happy this winter at one of France’s historic winter venues.

Wonderful Japan – Why A Tour Is Best

If you’re looking to book an exciting adventure somewhere, but you aren’t sure where, why not consider joining an established tour to a foreign land and let someone else take care of the details, while ensuring you have one of the times of your life? Accompanied tours can help you get the most out of a foreign country without having to worry yourself about specific things like cultural faux pas and language barriers. Read more below for reasons why taking an accompanied tour to Japan might be the best thing you ever did!

The Wonders of Japan

Japan, despite its relatively smaller size when compared to some of its neighbours, has a vastly different feel from north to south and from city to city. From the beaches of the island of Okinawa to the snowy ski slopes of the northern island of Hokkaido, there is something in Japan for everyone and for all tastes, lending itself to be a sought after destination for many people. Japan is ultimately an extremely large country, which is spread over a number of islands and can prove difficult to navigate, even for the most seasoned of travellers, which is why a limo transfer in Tokyo and then an escorted tour by someone who knows the country inside and out, alongside the language can make sure you get the absolute most of your time in this wonderful nation. Discovering Japan on an escorted tour is the best way to explore, ensuring you see the best, most well known pieces of the country without needing to compromise.

Variety Abounds

Tours to Japan don’t have to be the standard route such as Tokyo, Osaka, and back again perhaps adding in one or two other locations or attractions. In fact, there are many ways to tailor a tour to Japan, and many basic packages with amazing sights and experiences already included. You might find that one of the amazing packages available that it already holds all the things you want to see and do during your time in Japan, meaning you can spend your time before the trip researching additional things you might like to add to your package – or even just sitting back, relaxing and letting your tour guide do all the heavy lifting!

Not Just Tokyo

Most people when planning their trip to Japan can get carried away with Tokyo alone. For example, this is a huge, bustling, almost chaotic (although fantastically well managed!) metropolis with a population that rivals the population of some entire countries in other parts of the world. With so many people, restaurants, activities, things to see and do, it can be far too easy to get stuck in Tokyo alone trying to fit this majestic city in! With an escorted tour though, Tokyo’s main attractions are carefully laid out so you fit the best bits in with none of the unnecessary other stuff to ensure you get the perfect feel for this great place, before moving on and getting into the other meaty bits of this great, and varied country!

So there you have it – several reasons why you should visit Japan on an escorted tour to make the most of the country and your time in it. Escorted tours help you see everything you want, and then some and take care of all the organisation for you, ensuring you will have the best possible experience in your allotted time – so go ahead and book now, and jet off to Japan for your next trip away.

Great New Forest Getaways

Autumn is always a lovely time in most places – albeit with changes in weather which might leave some people wishing for the days of summer to return. Autumn can be a beautiful time of year, especially to get one last trip away from home in before the winter hits, and what better way to get away for a few days, or even a week, than booking a cottage somewhere.

South England

It’s no surprise that the south of England has a number of great attractions for all types of people. With easy and quick proximity to London, the south is always a bit of a hot spot for tourists from all over the world, and it’s a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city for awhile, especially with all the fantastic cottage rental options in the area. For example, you can rent a cottage in the New Forest for relatively cheap, depending on the time of year and the size of the cottage, which allows you a wonderful autumnal getaway in a beautiful part of the country. The New Forest is historical as well in that it was used as prime hunting grounds for monarchs of England dating back to the middle ages, and was employed as a large, makeshift airbase for Allied troops in World War 2. Memorials can still be found dotted throughout the New Forest, amid its wandering ponies and pigs, and its thatched roof cottages and winding, country lanes.

The Surrounding Area

The area surrounding the New Forest is equally unique and provides many easy travelling opportunities to other cities and towns with a variety of sights and events. For example, a short drive from the New Forest are the cities of Bournemouth, Southampton and Salisbury – Salisbury being the location of a number of amazing historic pubs, a charter market dating back to the middle ages each Tuesday and Saturday, as well as one of the oldest professed pubs in the area – the Haunch of Venison, which boasts flooring taken from the original floor of the gothic cathedral in the 1200’s when the floor was redone. It also is home to one of the last remaining full pewter bar taps in Britain, which makes this a great stop for history buffs. Salisbury, as mentioned is home to the famed Salisbury Cathedral, which has the tallest spire in the UK.

Other great towns nearby include Yeovil, Glastonbury, Bath and Bristol, with Glastonbury hosting numerous beautiful pagan sites and the famed Glastonbury Tor, and Bath being well known for it’s ancient Roman Baths and Thermae Spa which recreates the Roman bathing splendour for relatively low prices to be enjoyed by visitors. Numerous villages are dotted throughout the New Forest alongside their own unique pubs and teahouses, with Burley being perhaps one of the quaintest of the small villages, with a number of quirky shops and restaurants and single room teahouses.

So there you have a few amazing reasons to visit and book a cottage in the New Forest. Not only is it an area rich and ripe in history and amazing sights, but it lends itself to being a location that works for both outdoor lovers, shoppers, city explorers and the like. So don’t delay – many cottages are offering great last minute deals if your holiday ends before October, so book today and come see just what a treasure the New Forest really is!

Israel – An Unexpected Delight

Israel may not seem like the first place to think of when you are planning a holiday abroad, but there are a ton of things to see and do in this historical and diverse nation, with welcoming and friendly people throughout. From beaches to mountains to religious and deeply historical sites there is something here for almost every traveller – just read ahead to see what types of things there are to see here.

Tel Aviv

One of the major cities in Israel, Tel Aviv boasts a gorgeous coastline amid the downtown core which rivals other prominent Middle Eastern cities such as Dubai. While extravagance and luxury may not be as prominent in Tel Aviv as it is in Dubai, it just means Tel Aviv is more affordable for those travellers looking to make their money stretch a bit, and is fantastically connected with a wide variety of Tel Aviv flights. Gorgeous white sand beaches on the Mediterranean Sea allow for swimming nearly year round, with the exception being only a few short months over winter. One of the main attractions in Tel Aviv is the Bauhaus style architecture throughout its fabled “White City”, in which over four thousand of these historical buildings dating back to the 1930s stand. A result of the Nazi rise in Europe, the White City is an attraction for both positive and slightly negative sentiments, but is an interesting district to visit all the same.

Jerusalem and Bethlehem

The cities of Jerusalem and Bethlehem are well etched in the history of mankind as being two of the most prominent cities at the time of the birth of Jesus Christ in Christian belief. Regardless of whether or not you follow this particular path of religion, all peoples of all faiths can find inspiration and quiet contemplation in places which hold such great religious regard for millions across the world. The Western Wall (also known as the Western Wall) is one such place in Jerusalem that actually pre-dates Christianity as a place of worship, being connected to the Temple Mount, holy place for those of the Jewish faith. Herod the Great built this wall during his reign, which ended at the time of his death in 4BC, so definitely do not miss your chance to see this!

Bethlehem alone evokes imagery of the Nativity even if you aren’t Christian, and it can be both a humbling and awe-inspiring experience to visit the Church of the Nativity, where Jesus Christ is professed to have been born. Even if you aren’t Christian or religious though, both of these cities offer up some interesting back streets to explore alongside interesting street vendors for food and wares and real cultural Israeli experience as you amble along the dusty alleyways and corridors around the city.

Nazareth and Galilee

Nazareth is a prominent locale in Christianity and even in Islam and therefore features a number of exquisitely decorated and built mosques and churches – many with ties to locations where Mary is believed to have either frequented or received messages regarding the impending birth of Jesus Christ. Regardless of your faith, these churches and other religious buildings are feats of beautiful architecture and are often built on high hills, offering spectacular panoramic views.

Galilee is an area in northern Israel which is a huge draw for the tourist being made up of a microcosm of valleys, hills, mountainous regions and forests, which allows for a lot of outdoor activity, alongside the opportunity to visit small villages and get to know the local heritages. The sea of Galilee also offers water sports and the opportunity to relax on one of its beaches, taking in this vast and beautiful inland sea.

So as you can see there are a number of things to do in Israel, which is usually left out of many peoples considerations as a potential travel destination. Why not surprise your friends and family next time you head off, and head to Israel instead of the usual tourist traps? Enjoy!

Tired of Traveling Alone? Find Buddies With These Tips

July 15, 2016 By Admin Leave a Comment

Traveling is one of the most liberating experiences that anyone can have, traversing the globe with a backpack on, not knowing what tomorrow will bring and seeing the best of what this planet has to offer. Many people decide to make trips like these alone and doing this can provide complete flexibility, the autonomy to do what you like and when you like is brilliant, not having to make your decisions based on someone else’s opinion and the only person that you are responsible for is you. There are times however when traveling alone can lose some of its appeal, sharing experiences for example is far better than doing them on your own and there are times when you simply need a friend on the road. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, being lonely on the road can be resolved very quickly and here are some great tips to help you buddy up.

Social Media

The clue is in the title here ‘social’, if you are looking for some friends to go traveling with then join as many travel groups on sites like Facebook as you can, share on the groups where you will be heading or where you would like to go and connect with others who want to do the same. The same goes for finding friends in various cities, there are countless groups for people living abroad and they can give you a great opportunity to meet with them and discuss your travels together.

Meet Ups

There are several websites out there that offer you the chance to create meet ups or join in with one that someone else has created. These can be general meet ups for ex-pats and travelers or sometimes more specific meet ups based on hobbies. These are a great way to meet new and like-minded people for you to spend some time with and maybe even make great friends.

United We Stand

Regardless of what you may think, you are probably not the only solo traveler who wants some company and spending a little time online can help you find those looking for a friend. Try out travel blogs for people who are in the same city as you, contact them and ask if they want to meet up, don’t stop at one, look to create a bit of a group and maybe you could go on a holiday with solo travelers like you if you all click together. What better way to travel than with people who love travel and are looking for some company.

Don’t be Shy

The last thing that you should be if traveling solo is shy, whilst it is important to be guarded when traveling alone, being timid could lose you the opportunity to meet people. There is nothing wrong with enjoying your own space and freedom but full-time solo travel can be lonely so you need to try to avoid it. Shyness should also be avoided when it comes to keeping in contact with people that you have met, relationships with new friends and acquaintances should be nurtured, you never know when you will meet again.
