Fun Family-Friendly Social Distancing Ideas

August 30, 2020 By Admin Leave a Comment

Social distancing can be a real drag, but it’s necessary for health and safety. If your family is feeling a little too distanced from each other and the world around you, there are things you can do to have a good time while still being responsible. From whale watching San Diego to visiting ghost towns, here are a few fun ideas for family-friendly activities that are so enjoyable you’ll forget you’re social distancing.

Whale Watching

Whale watching is not only a safe social distancing activity, but it’s an incredible opportunity for families to experience together. Whales are such powerful, beautiful creatures, and seeing them up close is breathtaking. Families of all age levels will enjoy this memory-building activity. Keep in mind that you may not see a lot of whale activity every time you go. That’s why it’s important to schedule your outing during a strategic time. Whale watching Carlsbad is best between mid-December and mid-February. But you can see them at other times of the year, too. The best time of day for whale watching is generally between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., when lighting is at its best.

Hiking

Exercising outdoors is not only a great way to spend time with the people you love while social distancing, but it’s also important for your health. Hiking is one of the most enjoyable outdoor activities you can do because it is challenging and often ends with rewarding views. Just make sure you pack plenty of snacks and water to take with you so you don’t end up in a dangerous situation out on the trail.

Exploring Ghost Towns

Depending on where you live, you may have one or more ghost towns near you that you can explore. A quick online search will quickly show you what ghost towns are nearby. Usually, ghost towns are not very busy, which makes them great areas to explore without getting too close to others. Do your research to make sure the ghost towns near you are open to the public before you go. When you find one that is, go show yourself around and imagine what life must have been like for the people who lived there.

Host a Backyard Movie Night

Do you miss going to the movies as a family? Why not create your own movie night right in your backyard? You can bring out beanbags, hammocks, and other types of social-distancing seating and arrange them around a large screen. Choose a family-friendly movie and hand out individual servings of popcorn in Ziploc baggies. It may not be as glamorous as sitting in an air-conditioned movie theater, but it will probably be a lot more fun!

Spend a Day on the Water|

Water sports are the perfect way to cool down and have fun on hot weekends while maintaining a safe distance from others. To make your day trip more enjoyable, bring along water toys such as paddle boats, canoes, water tubes and more.

Though social distancing makes it hard to engage in spots and other close-contact activities, there are still plenty of things you can do to have fun while keeping your distance from others. Give these activities a try the next time your family gets bored.

Reasons to Plan Well Before a Trip to Orlando

September 30, 2019 By Admin Leave a Comment

If you have trip to Orlando coming up then I can tell you from experience that you are going to have to do more planning and preparation than you would do normally for a family holiday. Orlando offers so much in terms of things to do and things to see that you really need to spend some time online ahead of your trip to make sure that everything is in order for when you get there. This is going to be the trip of a lifetime but first you need to plan well, and here is why it is important.

Saving Money

One of the most important reasons why it is necessary to plan well ahead of your trip is so that you can take advantage of the many ways in which you can save money. Let’s say for example that you are looking for Universal Studios tickets, if you plan well you can buy them before you leave and get them for a fraction of the price that you would pay when you get there. The same goes for other parks too, if you want to save some money, plan well and buy them online. You can also save money by planning ahead as early birds get better deals on things like car rental and accommodation.

Calming the Chaos

The reason why you need to plan your itinerary before you go is so that you can maximize your trip to Orlando. If you don’t do this then it can very quickly get overwhelming as there is just so many things to do and so many places to see here. The last thing you want is to spend money on a big trip like this and then come home regretting that there were things that you didn’t do. If you spend a short amount of time before you go weighing up the things you want to enjoy, you can be sure that you can tick everything off your list during your time there.

Busy

A trip to Orlando is like a summer holiday where you relax on the beach for a couple of weeks, this is a holiday which is going to be busy and you need to ensure that you have everything prepared. From kids clothes to visas, car rental bookings to an itinerary, all of these things will ensure that you are well planned for the mayhem which you are about to enjoy.

Tips

Something I found very beneficial was the number of tips and hacks which I found online and if you take a look I have no doubt that you will find them helpful too. Things such as where to eat and when in order to save money, which opportunities to take advantage of and things to watch out for. Vital information which really helped us out during our vacation in Florida.

Don’t let this opportunity slip by you, plan well in order to have the very best time in Orlando.

Awesome Travel Spots to Visit in 2020

September 24, 2019 By Admin Leave a Comment

We may still have a few months left of 2019 but that hasn’t stopped us turning our attention to 2020, getting ahead with our travel plans. If you too are beginning to look at some travel destinations which you’d like to visit in the coming year then we have some great suggestions for you which you may like to consider. No matter if you are looking for a long haul trip, a city break or somewhere to just rest your bones in the sunshine, we’ve got you covered.

Johannesburg, South Afrca

Many head to South Africa to live out their safari dreams and Johannesburg makes for the perfect gateway city to this great nation. This is a city which is steeped in history having thrived for a great number of years after the gold rushing the late 19th Century, not to mention the ugly role which the city played in apartheid. Today however this is a very trendy and diverse city with a vibrant foodie scene, and locals who will welcome you with open arms. For access to national parks like Kruger which can be accessed by both air and road from Joberg. A cool city and the perfect place to spend a few days before heading off to see some wildlife.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

The last 5 years have ben very successful for Croatia’s tourism industry as more and more people are wising up to what this amazing country can offer them. For me the very best of Croatia can be found in Dubrovnik, a place with stunning beauty, quiet streets, baroque architecture and a city which offers discovery and awe in equal measure. Dubrovnik sits right on the coast of the Adriatic sea with that famously shimmering turquoise color as the backdrop to this walled city. The pedestrian-only old town is a wonderful place to watch the world go by as you enjoy some fine local food and drink, and the tiny limestone streets are filled with surprises around each corner. Whether you are looking to discover the ancient beauty of this city or relax on those outstanding beaches, Dubrovnik has something to offer every type of traveler.

Mexico City

If you are coming from the US or you are traveling to a beach spot like Cancun from elsewhere in the world, a trip to Mexico City is an absolute must. This is a bustling and at times, chaotic city which offers the very best of old and new Mexico. Ancient ruins and protected heritage sites sit in amongst modern installations and skyscrapers, juxtaposing the Mexican character. With over 150 museums to explore, street food adorning every corner, large parks to wander and a citizens who can’t wait to show off their city and country, this is the perfect place for a 3 or 4 day break. From the cool street art to the amazing local food, the fascinating ancient sites and the trendy hipster scene in places like Roma and Condesa, this is a very cool place to visit which you shouldn’t miss out on.

Which city do you like the look of for 2020?

Explore The Inhabited Islands Of Turks And Caicos By Boat

September 3, 2019 By Admin Leave a Comment

Source: Unsplash | Jay Cee

You can find Turks and Caicos in the Atlantic Ocean and not in the Caribbean Sea as many people think. Like the Bahamas, it has the same breathtaking beaches, sunny weather, and laid-back feel. This makes Turks and Caicos a great tourist destination worth exploring by boat. The archipelago comprises of 40 islands with only 8 inhabited ones. Sailing across the waters that surround the Providenciales brings about unparalleled excitement.

What To Expect

When sailing on your own in the Turks and Caicos Islands, you should know what is possible and what is not. The numerous cays and beaches of TCI have different boating environments. While small boats do not have access to most of these locations, the Caicos Banks are feasible for sailing, conch collecting, shallow reef fishing, or cruising. When your visit has calm weather, make sure to visit Half Moon Bay.

Sights And Spots that are a Must-Visit

The Providenciales south coast has a lot of fascinating and interesting places, all with magnificent natural beauty. Take a scenic journey in the West Harbour Bluff coast and see the ocean cliffs, rock inscriptions, and wildlife. For a tranquil sailing, head to Taylor Bay Beach and enjoy the soft white sand and shallow water while being impressed by the luxury vacation villas. On the central south coast, you can find the Turtle Tail that boasts small limestone islands and hidden beaches. Another stop you should not miss is the three-mile coast of Long Bay Beach.

Wind And Waters

The weather in Turks and Caicos has a significant effect on the sailing conditions. A day with low wind speed and calm water is perfect for a boating adventure. On the other hand, a breezy day can be uncomfortable when it causes localized waves. Also, the channels between the cays and the islands typically have strong currents brought on by the changes of tide. You can use GPS data and navigation aids when navigating the difficult Turks and Caicos waters, particularly the Providenciales north coast. It is easy to forget the time when sailing the TCI waters, but remember to leave plenty of time for your return trip.

Boating in Turks and Caicos can be the most memorable time of your vacation. Try a different and popular water activity every day such as parasailing, snorkeling, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kiteboarding, and diving. You may also encounter parrotfish, trumpetfish, turtles, small sharks, wrasse, and many other sea creatures. If you are dreaming of a vacation that has uncrowded beaches, unhurried seafood meals, friendly locals, stunning scenery, and overall leisurely vibe, Turks and Caicos is a great fit.

Recap: UnMarketing On Holiday Campaigns, Emails And More

February 8, 2019 By anthony Leave a Comment

When it comes to getting the lowdown on everything to do with online marketing from email campaigns to creating the ultimate marketing strategy and more, Scott and Alison Stratten of UnMarketing are simply the best. Not only is their knowledge about marketing sought after by small businesses across the world, but huge corporations like PepsiCo and the like are looking to these two Canadians for their expertise on getting those oh-so-important metrics and conversions. Have you been wondering about the importance of holiday campaigns and email marketing? Here’s the latest recap from their podcast.

Geography – It Counts

When it comes to different types of emails for any reason – not just the holiday season – it’s imperative to remember that geography counts. If you’re a brick and mortar store and you’re sending emails to people who live a four hour drive away, you probably aren’t reaching your customer base. Sure it might seem like a good idea, but realistically what are the odds that those people are going to be in the region soon?

Instead, focus on customers and potential customers in and around your area. Customers are more likely to be interested in your products and business if they’re likely to, you know, go there.

Email Frequency – Why You Need To Pay Attention Now

No one wants seventeen emails. Repeat. No one wants seventeen emails. Scott and Alison touched on the importance of email frequency and keeping it steady and along what your customers expect when they first sign up or subscribe. If you promise to send a weekly update or updates every quarter, stick to that schedule. It won’t look good to customers if you send nothing for months then bombard them over the weekend of Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday, Giving Tuesday and the like.

Videos – Live Or Not Live

Scott and Alison also touched on the importance of videos for your business – but only if they’re going to be relevant and provide value. There’s nothing worse than a video full of fluff that wastes customers time and offers little in return. Likewise, it’s important to be confident in your video, look the part and treat any video almost like a job interview with your customer – you want to impress and get that business or contract, so make sure your videos are professional and you’re dressed to reel in that customer.
So if you’ve been wanting to catch up with UnMarketing, check out their recaps with Emma to learn more about what you should and shouldn’t do with email marketing.

Great Camping Experiences – What Makes Them, and How To Have One

September 9, 2018 By anthony Leave a Comment

Source

Now that summer is over and school is back in session, you and the kids may be bemoaning the loss of those carefree weekends camping as a family in all your favourite spots. While autumn does bring in some cooler weather, never fear – if you live in an area where it’s a slow process you might be able to squeeze another trip or two in before the white stuff flies. If you don’t however, why not consider stocking up on some cool gear that helps you get out and get back under the stars – come what may?

Here are a couple of our top picks for things you’d need if you want to extend that camping season into the chillier months.

Tents

One of the main reasons it gets so cold when camping is from laying on the cold, hard ground. Many people purchase special heating pads or insulated ground coverings to solve this issue, but what about going one step further? Opting for a truck roof tent can be a great way to get off the ground and up a bit higher, helping to stay warmer and more insulated than your traditional pitched tent on the ground. Another benefit to sleeping in a truck tent is a less chance of being accosted by insects in the night. Even if you aren’t able to use a new truck tent this season, it’s a great option for those hot summer nights next year when you find you can’t sleep inside the house.

Helpful Equipment

If you’re the type of person who really likes to get out and among nature through camping, then you might want something that really puts those campsites to shame in the way of creature comforts that you can bring on the road with you. Tuff Stuff 4×4 is the place to check out everything you need from trailhead winches to overland expedition trailers that are solar ready with full kitchens, the perfect accessory to make any long distance road trip through backcountry a success story.

Make Camping Your Go To Activity

Everyone who’s ever been camping knows what fun it can be – taking off out of town with your favourite people in tow to check out some of nature’s best spots below mountains, along lakesides and on beaches. With so many places to explore while camping, the world becomes your oyster, even if you’re only exploring your own regional area. The benefit to some places with larger area to cover is that you will never run out of places to explore – especially with Tuff Stuff and all their fantastic gear that you will want to make your camping spot a home away from home.

So if you like camping and are still wanting to get in on it a bit before the weather changes too badly, why not consider saddling up with some unique and heavy duty gear that will continually get you from one end of the country to the other with nothing but great times and adventures to be had in between. Enjoy!

Why Office Decor Matters, and How Can You Improve Your Office’s Decor?

February 20, 2018 By Admin Leave a Comment

Thinking about an office without people? It is as absurd as thinking about the earth without air. Regardless of the type and size of the office, it starts with employees (people) and ends with customers, clients, and guests (people). As such, your office design must pivot around this human element for growth and success of the business. Creating a strong first impression goes a long way in developing business relation, and lack of that is sure to deliver the opposite result.

Office decoration plays a very vital role in running the business. When you give a stylish makeover to your commercial setting, it enhances the perception of the people about your business.  Mind, a clean and well-maintained office tells a lot about the quality, class, and efficiency of the business. Office decor can also bring in outstanding business growth. Several studies conducted, on the effect of environment on human behavior, strongly suggest that physical environment has significant impacts on happiness and productivity of the employee. The studies also indicate that well-decorated offices have less absenteeism.

Talking about the office design, we always think about the big names like Google, Microsoft, and Apple etc. who made revolutionary changes in their office design to make them more human-friendly for achieving the best results.  However, you need not always spend millions on design and decoration of the office for reaping the best benefits. Making some creative changes also pays great a dividend. Here is some office design changing ideas that you may follow to start with.

Make the boards decorative

Every office needs to keep a fair number of notes and memos posted in the office.  While this is essential for running the show, containing hard facts and instructions, such boards become a dull and drab spot in the office and damage the overall look of the office. As boards cannot be avoided, why it cannot be done in style? Plenty of beautifully designed whiteboards and chalkboards are available. Have one of them installed to change the look. Additionally, you may also introduce a dream board where employees can display their thoughts and hopes for the growth of the organization.

Organizing everything is the key

Having a place for everything and keeping everything in place, is the best way for making an office impressive. You should also clear clutter. This does not mean that you have to toss everything out. Arrange those for improving the decoration.

Light, light, and lights can do havoc

Natural light is great for boosting up the office decor. Design the office in such a way that it can exploit the maximum natural light available. Installing large glass windows are the best option for allowing the daylight in. You can also add more windows for capitalizing on natural light. Other than this, you must also optimize the lighting in the office. Better, get rid of those conventional overhead fluorescent lights and introduce zonal lighting. Opting for indirect lighting also helps to improve the office decoration and makes it energy efficient.

Make everything comfortable

Comfort should be given the priority. All sofas and chairs should be comfortable so that people can work with pleasure. The furniture should also be ergonomically designed to support the spine for reaping the best output.  Also, ensure that the monitors are at level with eyes and the keyboards are placed at a comfortable height. To add a most modern look, you can also include standing desks in the office.

Bring the outdoors in

Being biological creature, humans are greatly affected by nature. As far as practicable, make sitting arrangements facing the windows so that people can have a glimpse of the outside landscape. Installing wall-to-wall anti-glare glass window are great for this purpose. Where this is not possible, hang nice scenery on the wall a with window frame that will let you have a fake window with natural effect and improve the office ambiance.

Create a breakout area

No matter what is the size of your office, a breakout area helps to improve the interior. Mark a space in the office where people can discuss problems and do brainstorming for finding solutions. It could be a separate room outside the working zone, or you can define a space for this with area rugs and matching furniture. Include accent pillows to impart the feeling of a home away from home. Creating a nature-inspired breakout area in the office also makes it chic and classy.

Create illusion of space

Majority of the urban offices suffer from space crunch. Mirrors can make the office look more spacious and also help to improve the illumination.  Installing wall-to-wall mirrors will take the office decoration to the next level.

Take care of the floors

Having a nice and functional floor makes an office impressive.  Consider revamping the floors with stone and ceramic tiles. You may paint cement floors and cover it with carpet for improving the office decor.  If noise happens to be an issue in your office, the carpet will help to reduce the noise level.

Decorate the walls

Walls not only confine the office space, but those also help to cater the office. When taken care, walls can act as a great canvas and add to the beauty of the interior. If you are not constructing an office from zero, it is likely that walls will have blemishes. Other than opting for repairing, you can also choose to improve the walls with wall panels.  The great advantage of the 3D wall panels is that these can be installed easily and once installed the custom wall panels jazz up the place.

Plenty of decorative panels are available made of a wide range of core materials including MDF, Gypsum, and Metal. Available in bespoke modular designs, these textured decorative panels build up an amazing office environment.  Wall paneling also offers great protection to the walls. These provide both thermal and acoustic insulation besides up-scaling the aesthetic beauty. Since these can be cleaned easily, they offer a cost-effective solution for revamping the office decor.
