Awesome Travel Spots to Visit in 2020

September 24, 2019 By Admin Leave a Comment

We may still have a few months left of 2019 but that hasn’t stopped us turning our attention to 2020, getting ahead with our travel plans. If you too are beginning to look at some travel destinations which you’d like to visit in the coming year then we have some great suggestions for you which you may like to consider. No matter if you are looking for a long haul trip, a city break or somewhere to just rest your bones in the sunshine, we’ve got you covered.

Johannesburg, South Afrca

Many head to South Africa to live out their safari dreams and Johannesburg makes for the perfect gateway city to this great nation. This is a city which is steeped in history having thrived for a great number of years after the gold rushing the late 19th Century, not to mention the ugly role which the city played in apartheid. Today however this is a very trendy and diverse city with a vibrant foodie scene, and locals who will welcome you with open arms. For access to national parks like Kruger which can be accessed by both air and road from Joberg. A cool city and the perfect place to spend a few days before heading off to see some wildlife.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

The last 5 years have ben very successful for Croatia’s tourism industry as more and more people are wising up to what this amazing country can offer them. For me the very best of Croatia can be found in Dubrovnik, a place with stunning beauty, quiet streets, baroque architecture and a city which offers discovery and awe in equal measure. Dubrovnik sits right on the coast of the Adriatic sea with that famously shimmering turquoise color as the backdrop to this walled city. The pedestrian-only old town is a wonderful place to watch the world go by as you enjoy some fine local food and drink, and the tiny limestone streets are filled with surprises around each corner. Whether you are looking to discover the ancient beauty of this city or relax on those outstanding beaches, Dubrovnik has something to offer every type of traveler.

Mexico City

If you are coming from the US or you are traveling to a beach spot like Cancun from elsewhere in the world, a trip to Mexico City is an absolute must. This is a bustling and at times, chaotic city which offers the very best of old and new Mexico. Ancient ruins and protected heritage sites sit in amongst modern installations and skyscrapers, juxtaposing the Mexican character. With over 150 museums to explore, street food adorning every corner, large parks to wander and a citizens who can’t wait to show off their city and country, this is the perfect place for a 3 or 4 day break. From the cool street art to the amazing local food, the fascinating ancient sites and the trendy hipster scene in places like Roma and Condesa, this is a very cool place to visit which you shouldn’t miss out on.

Which city do you like the look of for 2020?

Planning An Action Packed Trip To Kenya

May 19, 2019 By anthony Leave a Comment

If you asked someone what their dream trip would be, a lot of people might say kicking back on a beach in Tahiti or whiling away the hours on some Caribbean island. While both are great ideas, many more people might opt for doing something a bit more adventurous such as planning an action packed trip to one of the African countries. Kenya is one of the hottest countries that welcomes travellers and the potential to have one of the most memorable holidays ever. Here are just a few of the things you should consider doing when you visit Kenya.

Mount Kenya

Mount Kenya is the highest peak in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, second only to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Mount Kenya is a challenging climb for those who want to flex their mountaineering muscles while in the country and it’s a fantastic addition for any itinerary if you’re adventurous. In recent years, accommodation has been added to the mountain to make it easier for climbers to acclimatise to the altitude, resulting in more successful summit attempts.

An interesting point of note is that Mount Kenya actually directly provides water for over 2 million people as a result of runoff that comes off the mountain. During your ascent you can see examples of this in some of the beautiful rivers and waterfalls that don the routes.

The Serengeti and Maasai Mara

The Serengeti in Tanzania is one of the most famous African plains where safaris are a popular and common activity. The region in Kenya north of the Serengeti is known as the Maasai Mara National Reserve and is home to numerous small Maasai tribal villages as well as just about every type of animal you could wish to see on safari. The whole area is home to numerous types of flora and fauna and is also a popular spot for many to watch the annual wildebeest migration in which millions of wildebeest flock across the plains in a terrific display of numbers on their migration path. This particular region is insanely popular for safari-seekers, so it’s a good idea to book yours well in advance of your stay to ensure you get the lodges and packages you’re after. Best times to visit are June to October in the dry season, which is also the height of wildebeest migration.

The Beaches

Head over to the coast for a bit of rest and relaxation after safari – something you will highly enjoy after spending a few days tracking game through the wilds of the Maasai Mara or other safari reserves throughout Kenya. The coast is to die for – with beautiful resorts, beaches and ample opportunity to just kick back and relax with nothing to disturb you except the waiter bringing you another cocktail. Don’t take it from us though, come and see for yourself. Flights to Mombasa from other areas of Kenya are the quickest way to get right onto the sand, so check them out ahead of time.

With so much to see and do throughout the country, we’re sure you will have no problem planning an action packed trip to Kenya. But don’t take it from us – come and see for yourself just what this unique, beautiful and welcoming country has to offer its visitors.

The Ultimate Must See List In Tanzania

May 11, 2018 By anthony Leave a Comment

When you first start thinking about places you’d like to go in Africa, it’s inevitable that the usual suspects make their way into your mind. Things like taking the challenge by the horns and climbing Kilimanjaro or joining a world famous safari group on the Serengeti. But what about the other things that you can do, and since Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania, what specifically should you not miss in this large and amazing country? Here are the top things you have to check out when you’re in one of Africa’s greatest gems, Tanzania.

Source

Kilimanjaro

Of course climbing one of the world’s most famous mountains is a must for many people during their trip to Tanzania. Climbing Kilimanjaro can be an awe inspiring, challenging but life changing and affirming experience. Many who choose to climb this spend the previous months preparing as the climb can be gruelling depending on the route you take. Some routes are suitable for children and families but a general rule of thumb is that children under 10 aren’t permitted due to the terrain and difficulty of the climb.

The highest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro is actually a dormant volcano with three volcanic cones. Standing at a height of over 19,000 feet, it’s imperative to climbers to spend the night over several days on the mountain in order to acclimatise to the elevation changes and to lessen the discomfort and sometimes dangerous effects of altitude sicknesses that can be a problem at further heights. Typically most of the routes up Kilimanjaro take around a week. To enjoy the trek and allow for a day or two where you might need to take it a bit easier due to altitude, consider booking a trip that is around eight days in length, depending on your chosen route.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This conservation area is a wide swathe of land in the north eastern part of Tanzania, about 180 kilometres west of Arusha. The region is known for the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders which is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, the result of a huge volcanic eruption and subsequent collapse between two to three million years ago. The highlands of the crater vary in climate depending on what side of the crater you find yourself – it covers over two hundred and fifty square kilometres of land – with one side of the crater receiving more annual rainfall that the others. The inner portions of the crater are primarily grassland and provide excellent areas for animals of all kinds to find water, food and shelter from the elements.

The Maasai people here have used the fertile land of the inside of the crater to subsistence farm for generations and are today struggling to retain claim to this land. After the Serengeti was made a national park, the Maasai people were moved by the government to the crater region as an attempt to rehome them. There was also a drought and other issues plaguing their former lands at the time, such as infestations of certain pests and widespread illnesses. Today the continued fight to create a more protected status for the crater means that the rehomed Maasai are again facing expulsion.

Believed to be the spot that humans first inhabited, hominid remains have been found that date back three million years. It’s also believed that one of the first footprints of man is found in the crater, making this not just an important place for animals, but also for mankind.

The Serengeti

One of the most famous safari and national parks in the world, the Serengeti National Park sits in the northern part of the country and is home to some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing options available. The park extends into southern Kenya in an area known as the Maasai Mara, a popular destination for those looking to experience both wildlife as well as village life. Serengeti is literally derived from a Maasai word meaning ‘endless plains’ and is rated as one of the Seven Wonders of Africa due to it being the site of the largest mammal migration in the world to take place on land. The Serengeti, being a hugely sought after safari site boasts numerous camps, lodges and companies which vary in class and rating from basic tent based safaris all the way up to five star lodges with private safari tours.

While the Serengeti is one of the most popular and sought after safari experiences in Africa, one thing has come to light in recent years and that’s the fact that overcrowding can be an issue. To avoid overcrowding, try to go in the shoulder seasons right at the beginning or ends of the rainy season. The bonus is you are likely to score a decent deal as well if you phone in advance and book last minute.

Zanzibar – An Island

Located off the east coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean, the island of Zanzibar stands out like a pearl in the turquoise blue seas. The island is fairly large and takes awhile to get around by car but is home to not just perfect beaches but idyllic corners of quiet solitude and small local villages where the coconuts are fresh and the smiles are plentiful. Nungwi on the very north coast is said to be the party town for those looking to mingle with other backpacking travellers and those who want to get their dance on, but nearby Kendwa offers a similar vibe, but much, much quieter with beach bars selling all the latest and greatest in cocktails, mocktails as well as local and international beers. Accommodation on the island ranges from modest and rustic bungalows all the way up to ultimate 5 star resorts with private beach access and even – get this – your own butler.

Stone Town

Stone Town is the capital of Zanzibar and as a result is a bustling little urban area with a surprising amount to see and do. The harbour is a lovely little thing, with brightly painted boats set against the turquoise backdrop of the Indian Ocean. Peddlers of food and trinkets line the streets, as do taxi drivers who call at you asking if you need a ride somewhere. As a general rule of thumb circa 2014 a taxi ride from Stone Town to Nungwi kind of distance was around $30USD. Stone Town is also home to the famous lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury and you can even tour his home, something any fan of Queen will have high on their to do list. Stone Town overall is a great place to just check out a museum or two, take some cash out (ATMs are few and far between over the rest of the island) and possibly stock up on any snacks, medical supplies and the like that might be harder to find in the rest of the island. You can also arrange fishing trips, snorkelling trips, and spice tours to numerous plantations throughout the island to see how things like nutmeg and vanilla are grown.

So there you have a couple of great places to check out in Tanzania, a country that will both challenge and surprise you at every turn and leave you breathless and thrilled. So come to Tanzania – you won’t regret the choice, especially with so many other countries to head to from its well connected airport as well.

Source

If you have been thinking of where to go for your next amazing getaway but you aren’t sure where you should hit up, why not consider the diverse and unique continent of Africa? With so many countries spread across this enormous land mass and from islands to jungles to safaris and more, you will be left purely in awe at not just the level of things to see and do in this region of the world, but the continued friendly welcomes you receive from the people who make this continent their home. Here are a couple of perfect first time African countries for you to consider for your next exciting holiday.

Morocco

Morocco is a country in northern Africa in the very north western corner. This relatively small nation is majority Muslim with many unique and interesting things to see and do, including tours to the Sahara desert which should not be missed. Be sure to check out the mazes of souks in the cities such as Fes and Marrakech and visit the leather tanning vats of Fes for a look at the production of leather products. Essaouira on the coast is home of the Gnaoua World Music Festival – a must see for those who love various types of ethnic music.

Tanzania

One of the most beautiful countries in sub-Saharan Africa, Tanzania is welcoming and large with a seriously laid back nature about it. Visit the gorgeous island of Zanzibar with its turquoise seas and white sand beaches – idyllic by many island standards and be sure to visit Stone Town – the capital of the island and also birthplace of legendary Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury. While on the mainland, consider heading to the north of the country and climbing Kilimanjaro – a bucket list item for thousands of people the world over. There’s nothing quite like it.

South Africa

Perhaps one of the most visited countries in all of Africa, South Africa is a perfect combination of Africa meets Europe. Founded and settled by Dutch explorers, the country is awash with mountains, vineyards, national parks and coastline that plays host to impressive wildlife such as penguins.

Egypt

Despite what the media will try to tell you, Egypt is safe, beautiful, welcoming and an amazing place to visit. Home to some of the most impressive ancient ruins in the world in the likes of Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel, Egypt still continues to enjoy numerous tourists (and tourism is on the rise again!). With amazing Red Sea coastline home to everything from Lionfish to sharks along with amazing natural scenery throughout the country such as Farafra desert to the Coloured Canyon north of Nuweiba on the Sinai, it’s easy to see why people keep coming back for more Egypt.

So if you’re looking for action, adventure and a bit of chill, consider Africa. It has everything you could possibly want with a lot of options for creating the trip of your dreams. Come and see for yourself just why visitors to this amazing place all say they leave a piece of their hearts here. We bet you will too.

Where the desert meets the delta – a Botswana Safari

October 18, 2017 By Admin Leave a Comment

Home to some of the most remarkable landscapes on earth, Botswana ranges from lush delta to arid desert and everything in between. An iconic safari destination for almost 100 years, it’s home to plush camps, remote lodges accessible only by plane and stylish small ships that will take you on a one of a kind river safari. A Botswana safari is truly unique, diverse and unforgettable!

Source

OKAVANGO DELTA

There’s nowhere on earth quite like the Okavango Delta, a Botswana Safari icon. Its swamps and floodplains double in size during the wet season, creating an immense network of interconnecting rivers and lakes that support tens of thousands of animals and birds. Endangered species like cheetah, white rhino and African wild dog roam freely here, having adapted to life in a complex wetland. No two days in the Okavango need be the same, with safaris on foot, on horseback or in a traditional mokoro dugout canoe.

Duba Plains

Duba Plains sits on a private 77,000-acre concession in the middle of the Okavango Delta, surrounded by vast open plains known for dramatic encounters between buffalo and lion. The camp has only just reopened after an extensive refurbishment with five tents and a stylish two-bedroom suite. It’s a relaxed and intimate camp, where each group of guests has their own private guide and butler, and the wine cellar is one of the best in the country.

Vumbura Plains

Split across two satellite camps in the vast Kwedi Concession, Vumbura offers a unique program of both land- and water-based safari experiences. Making use of the delta’s extensive system of waterways, guests can go wildlife spotting from a small boat or traditional mokoro dugout canoe. This mix of habitats means that just about every animal to be found in the Okavango Delta can be seen close to the camp. Each camp has seven rooms (with private plunge pools) set around a central raised lounge and dining area overlooking the ever-changing floodplains.

Beyond Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge

Xudum Lodge sits on the edge of a seasonal lagoon that is home to a resident family of hippo each rainy season. All nine luxurious suites here have a private hideout on the roof, perfect for watching them wallow without being seen. The whole lodge has a relaxed, playful feel with plenty of oversized couches, a tractor tire swing in the trees and an open kitchen where guests can see the chefs at work.

MAKGADIKADI PANS

Botswana is a land of contrasts and from the lush wetlands of the Okavango Delta it changes pace to the vast, arid, stark saltpans of Makgadikadi. Covering some 30,000 square kilometers in the northeast of the Kalahari Reserve and was once one of the world’s largest inland seas. Though it looks desolate, in the wet season in comes alive and you’ll spot zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, lion, cheetah, wild dogs, hyena and tens of thousands of flamingoes. The area has been inhabited for thousands of years, with evidence of Stone Age settlement and fossils at a number of archaeological sites. We are called as African Travel Specialists.

Jacks Camp

In the 1960s, Jack Bousfield stumbled upon a very special spot in the Makgadikadi Plains and was so enraptured that he immediately set up camp. Jack loved this region his entire life and in 2003 his son built Jack’s Camp as an homage to his vision. Ten lavish 1940s-style tents are furnished with Persian rugs and four-poster beds, and the camp is centered around a large canvas pavilion that houses its own natural history museum. Guests can join local Zu/’hoasi Bushmen on guided walks and learn how they eke out a living from this harsh environment.

LINYANTI GAME RESERVE

In the far north along the border of Namibia, Linyanti is something of a forgotten paradise, a largely untouched Botswana safari location. It’s landscapes range from lush wetlands and papyrus-lined lagoons to thick forest and open grasslands. The park is one of the best places in Africa to see the rare African wild dog. These handsome painted pups with huge bat-like ears have been driven to the brink of extinction, yet remain a permanent fixture in the relative remoteness of Linyanti.

Kings Pool Camp

Guests will find it hard to choose their favorite spot at Kings Pool. The curved outdoor lounge and firepit overlooking the watering hole? Or the private plunge pool and gazebo on the deck of their tent? The camp sits in the middle of the region with Africa’s highest density of elephants and they will be regular visitors – there’s even a sunken animal hide to put guests right at elephant-eye level. The nine thatched-roof tents have high ceilings, four poster beds, outdoor showers and private plunge pools. This camp epitomizes the essence of a Botswana safari.

CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

The Chobe River is the beating heart of this huge national park, home to one of the highest concentrations of game to be found anywhere on the continent. Chobe is most famous for its elephants and you’ll fine enormous herds of them wandering amongst rare roan and oribi antelope (among many others). It’s one of Africa’s quintessential safari experiences, promising animals galore, a sky filled with birds, luxurious safari lodges and camps, and unique river cruises within its borders.

Zambezi Queen

Think of the Zambezi Queen as a private travelling camp, albeit one set on water. This small ship holds just 28 passengers and has been specifically designed for safari cruising with an extremely shallow draft that lets it get right up to the riverbank. Guests can wake up to elephants splashing in the shallows right outside their floor to ceiling window, completely undisturbed. It’s an entirely different experienced to a land-based safari and something guests won’t soon forget.

KALAHARI DESERT

Almost one million square kilometers of desert rolls out across Botswana, Namibia and South Africa Safari, creating one of the most arresting landscapes on earth. Though the name comes from the San word for ‘place without water’, the Kalahari is by no means a dry and empty wasteland. It’s an every changing palette of rich red sands, deep dark canyons and startlingly lush watering holes. It’s a place where the skies are endless and the sunsets unforgettable.

Kalahari Plains Camp

Welcome to the middle of nowhere. The ultra remote Kalahari Plains Camp sits in the center of the Kalahari Desert on the edge of an enormous saltpan, so far from civilization that it’s best reached via a small plane. Solar powers runs the lights and heats the water for the eight plush tents, each with an open-air sleepout above where guests can spend the night under the stars. These Botswana safari game drives search out the rare black-maned Kalahari lion and local San bushmen lead interpretive walks.

5 Places for your 2017 Bucket List

December 24, 2016 By anthony Leave a Comment

If there is one place that you want to visit in 2017, what would it be? If you are finding it hard to decide, keep on reading and be inspired to travel. In any of these destinations, you are bound to have the time of your life.

Dust_Cloud_in_Etosha_National_Park

Namibia

This is an exotic destination with rugged beauty that is sure to leave any visitor in awe. It is still a relatively quiet country and you do not have to deal with a massive crowd to enjoy its best attractions. It has a beautiful desert, which is also a good place where you can try dune running. The wildlife is also diverse, as well as birdlife. Etosha National Park is one of the places that you should visit to have a close encounter with animals in the wild. Safaris are a great way to see animals in their natural habitats.

The Maldives

If your perfect idea of a holiday involves sun, sea, and sand, the Maldives should be on your bucket list. This is especially if you do not mind splurging on experiences. One of the biggest attractions in Maldives are the resorts themselves. The high-end resorts offer over-water accommodations. You will have your own bungalow that sits atop clear water. You can step out anytime for a dip. In some cases, your bungalow can even have its own pool, as well as round-the-clock butler service. There are also many places in Maldives where you can go diving or snorkelling, providing you with the opportunity to explore its underwater allure.

Lower_Slaughter_Cotswolds

The UK

This is one of the quintessential countries in the bucket lists of most people. 2017 is the time to explore the UK. There are many places worth seeing, but if you are short of time, London should not be missed. This is where you can witness the life of the royal family and be up close and personal with some of the most iconic landmarks in the world. For a more relaxing vacation, the Cotswolds will be a good choice. Yorkshire, on the other hand, will be good for a foodie escape. The costal towns of Cornwall and Devon, meanwhile, will be perfect if you love the beach.

Philippines

Gifted with 7,107 islands, there is never a shortage of beauty that you can experience in the Philippines. It is known for the warm hospitality of its people, but even beyond such, you will have endless reasons to pay it a visit. The beaches of Palawan, Boracay and Cebu have been repeatedly recognised as amongst the best in the world. Whether you just want to go sunbathing or you want to try diving, you will have a long list of activities to keep you busy during your trip.

Buddhist_monks_in_front_of_the_Angkor_Wat

Cambodia

Angkor Wat is perhaps the most popular attraction in the country. This is part of a temple complex that will require several days for you to explore. Visiting such will remind you of the game Temple Run. Away from Siem Reap, there are also other places that you can visit. If you love the beach, two of the most popular destinations are Sinahoukville and Koh Rong. The latter is a remote island, so expect that developments are at minimum. It is also cheap, which makes it a popular destination for backpackers.

5 Deserts You Should See One in Your Lifetime

December 24, 2016 By anthony Leave a Comment

If you want your next holiday to be unique, you should head to the desert. To make your experience even better, consider staying in desert hotels and camps, which will allow you to have unique accommodation. Don’t know where specifically to go? Keep on reading and we’ll suggest some places you might want to consider.

Sahara_desert_Algeria1

Sahara

Located in Northern Africa, this is the largest desert in the world, which is already enough reason to include this in your bucket list. It has an expansive area of about 3.5 million square miles, which is already 10% of the entire African continent. One of the best ways to experience the desert would be through camel trekking, which is a magical experience when done during sunrise or sunset. During your tour of the desert, there are also several historical ruins that can be visited to make the most out of your trip.

Gobi

The fifth largest desert in the world, this is another destination that you will love. Located in Asia, its isolation and silence are some of the things that make it magical. This is a place where you can disconnect from the outside world and just focus on living the present. Because of its location, the desert is cold, as against many that are hot and humid. In some instances, you can even see snow.

atacama-desert-594605_960_720

Atacama

This desert is located in Northern Chile and has an estimated size of 105,000 square kilometres. It is recognised as one of the driest places in Earth. This means that there is very little evidence of human development, which is exactly what rouses the interest of many people. Aside from the desert itself, you can also explore the intimate town of San Pedro de Atacama, which will make a great jump off point for your desert adventure. For the best sunset view, meanwhile, head to Valley of the Moon and see the surroundings turn pink.

Namib

This desert covers Namibia, South Africa, and Angola. It has a diversity of flora and fauna, including species that you cannot find anywhere else in the world. A large portion of the desert is a protected area. Some of the animals that you can see in the desert include antelope, springbok, jackals, hyenas, lions, rhinos, elephants, zebras, and ostriches. This is one of the best deserts if you wish to have an up close and personal encounter with animals in the wild.

Kalahari_E02_00

Kalahari

Magical – this is one word that is often used by many people when describing this desert in Botswana. Beautiful sunset, lush greenery, stunning waterfalls, and crimson sand are just some of the things that will make this place unmatched in terms of natural beauty. There is perhaps no better way of experiencing the desert than being on a safari. This will give you the chance to be close with ostriches, lions, buffalos, and antelopes. For something that is more memorable, try a walking safari at night and explore the desert under the gaze of bright stars.

Best Tips To Plan For African Safaris

December 1, 2016 By anthony Leave a Comment

In mind you know this could be a lifetime journey; a once in a life time kind of thing so you do not want to mess it up. It is the basic things really that you have to put in mind for example what to wear, what to carry, how much for upkeep, the coast and many other important things. It is an exhilarating experience especially if you plan to view Africa wildlife if especially you have only ever read about them and seen pictures online or on animal catalogues and documentaries.

Safari_lion_photo

First you need to decide on your safari destination and set your timing right. The eight countries in Africa that are famous for being safari destinations are South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Uganda. The most popular park in east Africa is the Maasai Mara national park which also hosts naturally the migration of wildebeests from July to October. Such factors are what you should keep in mind while choosing your destination plus you should consider places that are dry during the time you want to go for your vacation.

The clothes you carry also matter. It is mostly a myth that Africa is this hot place. Carry clothes for both cold and warm weather. Alternatively you can carry clothes that are warm enough and can be easily layered. After sunset it is chilly and you may also need a jacket if you will be touring around at early dawn. In relation to touring, you want to capture the best wild game views and sometimes your tour guide may not be able to go very close to the animals so bring with you a binoculars or a zoom lens for your camera. This will give you a closer view and you will be able to get the best snaps. You will never forget your experience there.

You should also take malaria prophylaxis to keep off malaria. You might want to go to Zambia and spend a fulfilling night outside taking in the view of the sky. You should consider keeping yourself safe so a few weeks before your trip try to find the right anti-malarial tablets for you, and deal with any side effects if there are any before your trip. Prevention is the best option here because if you get sick during your safari you won’t enjoy it much. Some areas in Africa including national parks are highly accommodative of malaria transmitting mosquitoes.

Finally you need to budget because planning a safari is not cheap. A budget will be able to keep you within your ability in sectors like lodge selection in your chosen destination. Ask an African Safari Expert to guide you through.

Following these tips will ensure your trip is fulfilling at all African Safarai levels. You should consult people who you know have been to Africa for vacations to advise you appropriately and be sure to heed to whatever they say. Find the best place for you and go with the best people too.

Summary:

African safaris can be luxurious, romantic, affordable, adventurous, family oriented as well as a fun filled affair. But you have to know how to choose the kind of holiday you love in this complex and magnificent continent. Africa offers all sorts of adventure travels and safaris.

The Great Wildebeest Migration Safari

May 24, 2016 By Admin Leave a Comment

Travel

The Great Wildebeest and Zebra migration in Tanzania and Kenya is one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles.

The migration happens year round as the Wildebeest and Zebra go in search of greener grazing pastures, and the many predators follow them in search of mood. Think of it like a roaming buffet of sorts.

Whilst the exact time and location of the migration throughout the year is difficult to predict, it does typically move in the same broadstroke regions, depending on rainfall etc.

If you were to travel to view the migration, August is probably your best month to do it and north Tanzania is where you want to be. This is the time when the Wildebeest give birth and the babies need to build up some size and strength before embarking on the round trip journey.

This means the Wildebeest are in one place for four to six weeks, as are the predators. This makes for a lot of animals in one place and nature unfolds in front of your eyes.

If you are the more adventurous type you may choose to follow the migration in tented accommodation on overland drives. This is the best way to get up close to the migration and the accommodation is excellent. When we say tents we don’t mean erect them yourself. The camps are set up in advance and you may have a shower and regular four-star comforts, excluding wifi of course, but that’s the point.
