Monday Morning Series: Painted rocks on the Camino de Santiago

For those who plan on walking the Camino de Santiago, the legend has it that pilgrims are to bring a stone to the Cruz de Ferro, where they will lay it at the cross, a symbol of the burden they have had to bear as they walk to Santiago.  Many leave messages along with their rock.  Not long before arriving at the Cruz de Ferro, I came across this display of rocks available for pilgrims to buy.  Perhaps many do not know of the traditions….

Names painted on rocks along the Camino de Santiago
