Looking forward to where I would like to go, it is also worthwhile to look at where I’ve been. Where did she go now recently did exactly that. It got me thinking, where have I been? What crazy things have I done?
1. cycled Vancouver to Halifax solo – check out the series: Cycling Across Canada
2. trekked in the Everest region
3. backpacked South America
4. visited Mayan ruins in Guatemala and Mexico
5. rode to the top of Mont Ventoux on my road bike
6. traveled to all states in Australia
7. overnighted in Milford Sound
8. kayak camped off Salt Spring Island
9. took a ride in a sea plane
10. survived being mugged and hit by a bus at the same time
11. won the Canadian Nationals women’s road race – Masters 30 – 39
12. won the Ontario Provincials women’s road race – Masters 30 -39
13. won Rep of the Year at work
14. hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
15. overcame a double skull fracture
16. lived in Australia for 7 years
17. cycled Paris-Brest-Paris in 82 hours (12oo kms)
18. walked across the bridge over the River Kwai
19. have ridden horses, a camel and an elephant
20. swam with dolphins, turtles, sharks and stingrays
21. owned a house in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere
22. represented my university in varsity fencing
23. scuba dived the Great Barrier Reef
24. sold Viagra (I worked for Pfizer when it was first released in Australia)
25. watched The Lion King on Broadway, When Harry Met Sally in London and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in Toronto
26. hunted for snakes in the Bolivian pampas (held an anaconda and the tail end of a cobra
27. spent time in a cadaver lab
28. stayed up all night welcoming in the year 2000 overlooking Sydney Harbour
29. watched some of the Sydney 2000 Olympics live in the stadium
30. participated in the World Masters Games in Sydney Australia. Got to march into Olympic Stadium just like the Olympians did in 2000!
31. nursed my cat back to life when she went into acute renal failure
32. watched the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center in NYC
33. stared my own business (personal chef)
34. hiked and camped in the Blue Mountains
35. watched a monk snowboard in Nepal
36. tried the circus high wire trapeze
37. had my own darkroom to develop film pictures
38. down hill skied in Australia
39. cycled the Great Ocean Road
40.parasailing in Australia
Needless to say, this is still a work in progress! Not a bad start to a list of where I have been!




Wow. I’m in awe. What a varied list –some fun, some light, some real victories!

You can also take the bike onto a commuter train for half hr. ride to Malmo Sweden from Copenhagen. (Bikes are forbidden across this bridge.)
